Full day first aid course

This course lasts for 1 day from 9.30am to 4pm (on select dates & locations only) and is open to all those caring for birds of prey. It is facilitated by Fens Falconry staff and our Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) approved practitioner in zoological medicine from Toll Barn Veterinary Centre Ltd.

This is an intensive 6 hour session covering the following topics;

• bird of prey anatomy

• common injuries & prevention

• common illness, zoonoses & prevention

• hygiene & cleaning

• impacts of accommodation

• field treatments

• feeding & exercise to promote good health

This course is £95 per person and you will be taught in a group of up to 10 people, 70% classroom and 30% practical, there will be cadavers to explore anatomy as well as practice treatment techniques. 

A cold buffet lunch & refreshments are provided along with course notes & certificate of attendance.
